US offered to share F-117 technology with Britain 31 December, 2016

British National Archives’ recently declassified documents show that U.S. former President Ronald Reagan had offered British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher a chance for both countries to work on the F-117 stealth program back in 1986.

The program was given the code-name Project Moonflower and the British Ministry of Defence (MOD) declined the offer to buy the F-117 as it was still a highly classified military which were denied as existing until ready to be announced to the public. ( Such programs are called Black Program in UK and In the United States the formal term is Special Access Program (SAP)
