    Video of the prototype of the new laser weapons system, developed by the US Ground Forces, has been shared. The images show a short-range air defence system integrated into the Stryker 8x8 wheeled armoured vehicle. The weapons system, which is planned to be deployed to protect personnel on the battlefield against unmanned aerial systems and air munitions, will produce a 50-kilowatt laser. The force is working to bring the system to platoon level by fiscal year 2022.
